PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device, an imaging method, and a program for properly photographing a projection image projected by a projection unit.SOLUTION: An imaging device comprises: an imaging element 8 that photographs a subject image formed by focusing light from a predetermined visual field area to generate an image signal of the subject image; a projection unit 27 that has a plurality of light-emitting parts 273 that emit light beams having different wavelength bands from each other, and projects a projection image by a field sequential method by which light beams emitted from the respective plurality of light-emitting parts 273 are sequentially emitted toward an area that substantially overlaps with the predetermined visual field; and a system control unit 28 that controls an exposure timing of the imaging element 8 on the basis of light-emission timings at which the respective light-emitting parts 273 emit light.
