The dyestuff, 2: 5-dimethoxy- 4 - aminophenylsulphondiethylamide# Naphthol AS/BO (the 11-naphthylamide of 2:3- hydroxynaphthoic acid) is produced in substance or on a textile fibre. In an example, boiled cotton yarn, impregnated with an aqueous liquor containing the coupling component, turkey red oil, caustic soda and formaldehyde is treated with an aqueous liquor containing the diazo component, sodium nitrite, hydrochloric acid, sodium acetate and common salt, rinsed, soaped, rinsed and dried to obtain a very blue maroon dyeing fast to light, to soda ash boiling and to bleaching. The diazo component is obtainable as described in Specification 546,301. Specifications 6379/12, [Class 2 (iii)], and 17279/13, [Class 15 (ii)], also are referred to.
