PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a vertical shaft outlet pipe ventilation type synchronous generator from approaching to a guarantee temperature with a rise in temperature of a thrust bearing.SOLUTION: A vertical shaft outlet pipe ventilation type synchronous generator 1 comprises: a pair of upper and lower bearing parts 16, 18 in which the lower bearing part 18 includes a thrust bearing 18b; an enclosure 5 which includes a pair of inlet ports 5a, 5b formed on the upper and lower sides of a rotor 10, and an outlet port 5c; a fin 20, 20 disposed on the top and the bottom of the rotor 10, which creates an air flow sucking outer air from the inlet ports 5a, 5b by the rotation of the rotor 10, ventilating the bearing parts 16, 18 and a stator coil part 14, and discharging the air from the outlet port 5c; a blind member 22 which is disposed at the upper inlet port 5a; a lower side temperature sensor 82 which detects temperature of the thrust bearing 18b; a drive unit 50 which performs opening/closing drive of the blind member 22; and a control unit 70 which performs a drive control to reduce opening of the blind member 22 when the detected temperature by the lower side temperature sensor 82 is higher than a threshold value. |
