PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for start-up operation of a suspended blast furnace, by which phenomena reflecting an unstable furnace condition, such as an increase in blast pressure, the occurrence of hanging and difficulty in discharge of molten iron slag, are suppressed at an early start-up stage of the blast furnace in a suspended state.SOLUTION: In a method for start-up operation of a suspended blast furnace, during a period from 1 to 6 hr after start-up, the blast volume per tuyere (the total blast volume divided by the number of tuyeres) is maintained at 100 Nm/min or larger and the tuyere blowing speed is adjusted to 180-280 m/s. In order to control the tuyere blowing speed, the tuyere cross section area is reduced by blocking one or more tuyeres or decreasing the aperture size thereof. |
