When maintenance (filling or purging of ink) of an inkjet head (11) is performed, ink in the inkjet head (11) is compressed and/or an exhaust pump (30) is operated, and by sliding a shutter member (25) through use of an actuator in a state in which a suction force is effected in a slit (26) in the shutter member (25), the position of a communicating hole (22) in a cap member (21) opened by the slit (26) of the shutter member (25) is sequentially switched, and the position of an ink discharge hole (12) in the inkjet head (11) for effecting a suction force or a compression force is sequentially switched. The necessary pressure can thereby be reliably effected in all of the ink discharge holes (12) of the inkjet head (11) in sequence, and the maintenance properties of each ink discharge hole (12) can be enhanced.
