Industrial biomethanation processes normally produce biogas that has a concentration of hydrogen sulfide higher than that allowed in exploitation processes. The need to purify said biogas has led to the development of desulfurisation processes wherein the hydrogen sulfide contained in the biogas is oxidised to form elemental sulfur that adheres to the walls of the biomethanation reactor, the same reactor used as a desulfurisation reactor, requiring periodical and unavoidable cleaning and extraction of the deposited elemental sulfur, and thereby having to delay the biomethanation process, the yield from which decreases as associated down times appear. The invention (Fig. 1) renders the biomethanation reactor (DA) independent from the desulfurisation reactor (DSA) such that the required cleaning and maintenance operations can be carried out in the second without delaying the operation of the first.
|
