PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that suppresses an amount of displacement of an exposure position in a sub-scanning direction for each reflection surface, and can perform correction of banding while eliminating distortion of vertical lines and color fluctuation occurring during correction of laser brightness.SOLUTION: Correction of a position is performed by adjusting a rotation speed of a motor according to an amount of displacement of position in a sub-scanning direction occurring on each surface of a polygon mirror. In particular, a fundamental wave component of an exposure trajectory in one cycle of a polygon mirror is extracted from an amount of displacement of an exposure position in the sub-scanning direction, and modulation control of the rotation speed of the motor is performed so that the extracted fundamental wave component becomes zero. |
