PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lock two lid members, and to detect whether they are opened and closed, using one lock means and one opening-and-closing detecting sensor, in a bill processing device provided with the two lid members for opening and closing a bill introducing conveying path in a device body side. SOLUTION: The bill processing device includes: a first lid member 20 journaled in a rear part proper place by the device body 11, to open and close a front part of a conveying member 12; a second lid part 30 journaled openably and closably to open and close a conveying member rear part; a lock member 40 for locking the second lid member in a closing position; and a lock detecting means 50 for detecting that the second lid member is located in the closing position. The bill processing device is provided, in the second lid member, with a preventing piece 31 for locking a part 22 to be locked provided in the first lid part no to be opened when locking the lock means by closing the second lid member while the first lid member is located in the closing position.
