PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimension management method of a wire for a 2-piece type oil ring and a dimension management device for the wire for the 2-piece type oil ring for obtaining a 2-piece type oil ring which improves functionalities such as sealability and oil controllability required for an oil ring for an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: In a dimension management jig comprising a columnar part or a spherical part having an outer diameter dimension equal to an outer diameter of a coil expander which presses upper and lower rail parts outwards in a radial direction of an oil ring, a length of a location E shown in Figure 2 is measured in the state where a columnar surface of the columnar part or a spherical surface of the spherical part is brought into contact with the vicinity of an oil return groove part which is provided while being communicated to an oil return hole on a coil expander accommodation recess part surface of a wire for a 2-piece type oil ring. The measurement is used as an alternate index for determining the presence/absence of variation in dimensions of locations A, B, C shown in Figure 3 in the wire for the 2-piece type oil ring.
