PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately estimate a ripple current flowing into and out from a capacitor connected with an input side of an inverter and calorific power of the capacitor in an electric vehicle.SOLUTION: An electric vehicle comprises: motors 5a and 5b for traveling; battery 3 for supplying power to the motors; inverter circuits 16a and 16b for converting direct-current power of the battery to alternating-current power and supplying it to the motors; a capacitor 15 connected between positive and negative electrodes of an input end of an inverter; and a controller 9. The controller 9 estimates a ripple current of the capacitor on the basis of a current flowing between the inverter and the motors, a rate of modulation of the inverter and an input voltage of the inverter. In addition, the controller 9 also estimates calorific power of the capacitor on the basis of the estimated ripple current. |
