PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting nanowire single photon detection apparatus in which the quantum efficiency is 1% or more and the dark count rate is 0.5 Hz or less.SOLUTION: A superconducting nanowire single photon detection apparatus 2 for detecting a single photon of a predetermined wavelength inputted from an optical fiber 1 comprises: an optical filter 4 through which only light of the predetermined wavelength is transmitted in light inputted from the optical fiber 1; cooling means 5 for cooling the optical filter 4 to a cooling temperature equal to or lower than room temperature; and an SSPD element 3 for detecting the single photon of the predetermined wavelength transmitted through the optical filter 4 as an electric pulse. Preferably, in the superconducting nanowire single-photon detection apparatus, the temperature of cooling by the cooling means is 3K. |
