PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering control unit and vehicular steering control method capable of disengaging a clutch without awkwardness in steering.SOLUTION: When a clutch 6 is engaged, if a clutch disengagement condition is established, a disengagement command is outputted to the clutch 6. During a period until completion of disengagement of the clutch is detected after the disengagement command is outputted to the clutch 6, turning angle control is implemented in order to drive and control a turning motor 8 so as to adopt a turning angle &thetas;r as a disengagement turning command angle. While the turning angle control is being implemented, a reaction force motor 4 is driven and controlled in order to apply a steering reaction force equivalent to a virtual self-aligning torque. |
