PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide carbohydrate mixtures for dietetic foods and pharmaceuticals, dietetic foods and pharmaceuticals containing the carbohydrate mixtures, and the use of the carbohydrate mixtures for promoting the human large intestinal flora.SOLUTION: Provided are carbohydrate mixtures for dietetic foods and pharmaceuticals containing several carbohydrates, characterized in that they contain two different soluble carbohydrate components A and B which remain undigested in the gastrointestinal tract and enter the large intestine, that the carbohydrate component A is one oligosaccharide (from disaccharide to hexasaccharide) or a mixture of two or more of these saccharides, that the carbohydrate component B is one polysaccharide (from heptasaccharide to a polysaccharide composed of at most 100 monosaccharide units) or a mixture of two or more polysaccharides, that the carbohydrate component A=5 to 95 wt.% and the carbohydrate component B=5 to 95 wt.% of the sum of the carbohydrate components A+B (=100 wt.%), that at least 60 wt.% of the carbohydrates/saccharides which constitute the carbohydrate component A belong to the group of galacto-oligosaccharides, galacturonic acid oligosaccharides, and fuco-oligosaccharides, and that the carbohydrate component B contains the carbohydrates/saccharides having a different structure than the carbohydrates/saccharides which constitute the carbohydrate component A. |
