This image pickup apparatus is provided with: a light receiving element which receives light and converts the light into optical detection signals; a pixel transistor, which is connected to the light receiving element, and which controls connection between the light receiving element and a signal line; a low-pass filter applicable to the optical detection signals; an A-D converter that converts output signals of the low-pass filter into digital data; and a sequencer, which, prior to outputting the digital data by operating the A-D converter, controls the pixel transistor to be in the on-state, in a state wherein the low-pass filter is effectively functioning to the optical detection signals, and which connects the light receiving element and the signal line to each other. |
