Disclosed is a process for producing a thiophene derivative, which can produce a highly pure thiophene derivative in high yield. Specifically disclosed is a process for producing a thiophene derivative, which comprises the steps of: reacting a halogenated thiophene with an alkali metal alkoxide in an alcoholic solvent, and distilling away the alcoholic solvent out of the reaction system, thereby producing a dialkoxy thiophene; and reacting the dialkoxy thiophene with a compound containing an oxygen atom or the like while distilling away a by-product produced by the reaction out of the reaction system. |
