The present invention relates to a device and a method for converting satellite signals to optical signals in a satellite broadcasting relay system. According to the present invention, disclosed is a device for converting satellite signals to optical signals in a satellite broadcasting relay system comprising: an electricity switching part for selecting satellite broadcasting signals of which the state is good among inputted satellite broadcasting signals after receiving satellite broadcasting signals from at least one antenna; at least one laser operating part for producing optical signals corresponding to the satellite broadcasting signals selected from the electricity switching part using laser; and an optical switching part for selecting optical signals of which the state is good among inputted optical signals after receiving optical signals from the laser operating part.
