The method involves providing a set of cables (20 b1-20bN), where each of the set of cables is arranged with a central node (D1) that is utilized for supplying current to respective load points (10 b1-10 b4). A measurement module (21b) is arranged on each of the set of cables. A communication power line message is associated with an identifier, and a set of power levels is compared. A level of maximum capacity is selected based on the compared power levels. The power levels are selected for an unloaded power cable.
