The installation has an integral frame (10) in which a reading device (40) reads an individual identification code carried by an animal i.e. duck. An access passage is arranged with a U-shaped external wall and a U-shaped internal wall so as to modify dimensions of the passage. An access door (24) is placed on a level of an access opening for the passage. The door is designed to close itself at the time of entry of the animal in an access unit (20). A weighing device measures the weight of the access unit.
