PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens and an imaging device that have both of an excellent correction of various aberrations and miniaturization attained.SOLUTION: The zoom lens has, in order from an object side to an image side: a first lens group with a negative refractive power; a second lens group with a positive refractive power; and a third lens group with the positive refractive power. Upon magnifying a power, a distance among each of the lens groups varies, respectively, and a distance between the first lens group and the second lens group is shorter at a telephoto end than at a wide-angle end. An aperture stop is disposed closer to the image side than the image side plane of the first lens group, and closer to the object side than the image side plane of the second lens group. The second lens group is composed of, in order from the object side to the image side, an object side sub-lens group with the positive refractive power and an image side sub-lens group, and the object side sub-lens group of the second lens group is composed of one lens component. In the lens component, only two planes of the object side plane and the image side plane contact with air on an optical path, and the zoom lens satisfies the following conditional expression, 3.0<&Dgr;D/ER<4.51.05<|f/f|<2.1. |
