PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a yarn splicing device and a yarn splicing method that can flexibly adjust the length of a yarn end taken into an untwisting portion as well as a winding unit and a textile machine comprising the yarn splicing device.SOLUTION: A yarn splicing device 10 comprises: a first holding portion 60A for holding a yarn end YA; a first cutting portion 70A for cutting the yarn end YA; a first untwisting portion 40A that takes in and untwists the cut yarn end YA; a second holding portion 60B for holding a yarn end YB; a second cutting portion 70B for cutting the yarn end YB; a second untwisting portion 40B that takes in and untwists the cut yarn end YB; an adjustment portion that adjusts the length of the yarn end YA taken into the first untwisting portion 40A and the length of the yarn end YB taken into the second untwisting portion 40B; a yarn splicing portion 50 that twists the untwisted yarn end YA and the untwisted yarn end YB together; and an independent actuator 29 that opens and closes the first cutting portion 70A and the second cutting portion 70B.
