A method for usage of a keyboard with less number of keys than characters in a given language. The method comprises the following steps: displaying a keyboard wherein, characters of the given language are assigned to keys on the keyboard, wherein for at least one key: (i) a primary character is determined as a carrier character (CC) and some characters are determined as accompanied characters (AC); (ii) one or AC are assigned to the same key with one CC; receiving a first sequence of keystrokes followed by a second sequence of keystrokes from the keys on the keyboard which relate to the same word; checking and analyzing the first sequence of keystrokes to determine if it was received from keys that were keystroked consecutively more than one time and are assigned with an AC, to decode each sequence that was received from the same key to a valid word. |
