PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cooking stove capable of suppressing the occurrence of a flame overflow, in which a flame to be formed in the burner port part of a cooking stove is temporarily enlarged, even when the passage resistance of a gas quantity adjusting part for switching the heating power of the cooking stove burner becomes abruptly small.SOLUTION: A gas cooking stove comprises a gas nozzle, a tubular gas supply passage, a cooking stove burner and a gas quantity adjusting part. In the gas supply passage 35 between a first connection part 33 for connecting the gas quantity adjusting part and a gas supply passage 35 and a second connection part 36 for connecting the gas supply passage 35 and a gas nozzle 32, a passage cross-sectional area contraction member 37 for reducing the passage cross-sectional area of a fuel gas to flow from the first connection part to the second connection part is arranged along the flow direction of the fuel gas.
