PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular door latch device for maintaining a closing state of a door even when the door is deformed.SOLUTION: The vehicular door latch device comprises a base member 3 fixed in a door 2, a meshing mechanism 5 installed in the base member 3 and capable of holding the door 2 in a closing position by meshing with a striker on the vehicle body side, outside levers 12 and 13 installed in the base member 3 and rotatable in the release direction based on opening operation of an outside handle 6 arranged on an outer panel 2a of the door 2, lock means 14 installed in the base member 3 and changeable to an unlock state capable of releasing meshing of the meshing mechanism 5 and an unreleasable lock state based on rotation in the release direction of the outside levers 12 and 13 and detection means always held in a standby position and displaceable in the cabin direction from the standby position by causing deformation of the outer panel 2a. The detection means changes the lock means 14 to the lock state from the unlock state by moving in the cabin direction from the standby position. |
