PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prescription input device and a method capable of preventing input errors of medicament names and reducing efforts of input work.SOLUTION: A first medicament name indicating a name of a medicament specified in a prescription is acquired by optically reading the prescription of the medicament. A second medicament name indicating a name of a medicament prescribed for a patient is acquired by reading record information recorded on a package of the medicament. Whether an active ingredient of the medicament corresponding to the first medicament name acquired by a first medicament name acquisition part 33 matches an active ingredient of the medicament corresponding to the second medicament name acquired by a second medicament name acquisition part 35 or not is verified. At least one of the first medicament name and the second medicament name is displayed when they do not match in the verification. Based on data input into a reception part 30 for receiving the input of contents of the prescription, pharmaceutical information is created. When the active ingredients of the medicaments of the first medicament name and the second medicament name match in the verification, the pharmaceutical information including the second medicament name is created. |
