PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bidirectionally perform data communication in the same transmission path while suppressing increase in costs.SOLUTION: When receiving a master side transmission signal transmitted from a master 2, as a slave side reception signal, through a wire harness 4, a slave 3 performs clock extraction processing of extracting a clock from the received slave side reception signal by clock data recovery and reception data determination processing of determining slave side reception data from the slave side reception signal. The slave 3 also transmits a slave side transmission signal to the master 2 in a period in which the clock extraction processing and reception data determination processing are not prevented and a slave side reception signal exists. The master 2 determines master side reception data by removing a signal waveform component of the master side transmission signal from a signal waveform of the master side reception signal.
