An electrically operated oil pump (1) is formed by integrally combining a brushless electric motor (2) and an oil pump (3) which is rotated and driven by the electric motor. The electric motor is configured from: a motor casing (10); a drive shaft (42) disposed in a motor housing chamber (12) within the motor case and rotatably supported by the motor case; a rotor (40) on the drive shaft; a stator (20) mounted to the motor case so as to face and surround the rotor from the outside circumferentially; and a partition case (30) extending through a gap across which the rotor and the stator face each other, and dividing the motor housing chamber into a rotor housing chamber (31) and a space in which the stator is disposed. The electric pump is configured such that the drive shaft penetrates through the motor case and is integrally connected to the pump drive shaft of the oil pump to enable the rotation of the drive shaft to be transmitted to the pump drive shaft. The electric pump is provided with a connection hole (89) which connects the rotor housing chamber to the suction side of the oil pump.
