The welding device disclosed has: a switching unit, a setting unit, an output detection unit, a control unit, a frequency control unit, and a drive unit. The switching unit is constituted of a switching element. The setting unit sets a setting output. The output detection unit detects welding output. The control unit calculates an output ON interval for the switching unit on the basis of the setting output and the welding output. The frequency control unit determines an inverter frequency on the basis of the output ON interval. The drive unit controls on/off operation of the switching element that constitutes the switching unit on the basis of the inverter frequency and output ON interval. When the output ON interval is a first proportion, the inverter frequency is a first frequency, and when the output ON interval is a second proportion smaller than the first proportion, the inverter frequency is a second frequency higher than the first frequency. |
