<p> Provided are a sealing device and sealing method whereby a gap is easily adjusted even when the frequency of sealing at the same location is increased. Outer rolls (21-26) having first protrusions (20a-20d) protruding in a radial direction and inner rolls (31-36) having second protrusions (30a-30d) protruding in a radial direction are disposed facing each other on the outside and inside, respectively, of a rotating roll (12) in which through holes (12c) are formed passing through the rotating roll (12) between an external peripheral surface (12a) and an internal peripheral surface (12b) thereof. A sealing material (4) is disposed along the external peripheral surface (12a) of the rotating roll (12) and conveyed by rotation of the rotating roll (12), and when the sealing material (4) passes between the outer rolls (21-26) and the inner rolls (31-36), the sealing material (4) is pinched between distal ends of the first protrusions (20a-20d) of the outer rolls (21-26) and distal ends of the second protrusions (30a-30d) of the inner rolls (31-36) facing the rotating roll (12) via the through holes (12c), and is sealed.</p> |
