WATER ABSORBENT, AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water absorbent which has excellent handleability under such a high humidity condition that the water absorbent absorbs humidity and which exhibits excellent absorption properties under pressure, and to provide a production method of the water absorbent.SOLUTION: The particulate water absorbent is based on a water-absorbing resin, contains a polyacrylic acid (polyacrylate)-based water-absorbing resin particle and an inorganic oxide fine particle and has 20 g/g or higher AAP1.9kPa. The blocking rate of the particulate water absorbent is 20% or lower when left standing for one hour in such a state that the temperature is 25°C and the relative humidity is 90%. The particulate water absorbent contains 1.0-5.0 pts. wt. of a non-polymeric water-soluble saturated aliphatic compound having 100°C or higher boiling point on the basis of 100 pts. wt. of the water-absorbing resin.
