PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an operator from missing a selected position even after fluctuation of a projection area by preventing the selected position from being fluctuated even when fluctuating the projection area of an image projection device.SOLUTION: The image projection device comprises: superpose image projection means for performing projection while superposing a predetermined superpose image (menu screen) on a projection image generated on the basis of a video signal; and signal control means for detecting fluctuation in a projection area of the projection image on the basis of the video signal. In the case where the fluctuation in the projection area of the projection image is detected, the superpose image projection means fluctuates a projection position of the superpose image in accordance with the fluctuation of the projection area, and generates the superpose image in which a display position of a portion (t) selected in the superpose image before the fluctuation and displayed in a display style different from the other position is adjusted in the case of fluctuation on the basis of a fluctuation amount of the projection position of the superpose image. The superpose image is projected as a superpose image after the fluctuation.
