PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable double-sided image formation using a paper feeding part capable of feeding non-fixed size paper, and eject a sheet in which the length of the sheet cannot be determined before a branch part of conveyance for double-sided image formation without guiding to a paper inversion part.SOLUTION: When a double-sided mode and manual free size mode are set, paper length detection processing is started. If the paper length L is not determined before the switching timing between conveyance flappers 172 and 182, second conditions are not established, and a CPU 301 switches between the conveyance flappers 172 and 182 to guide the sheet in a direction of a paper conveyance path 231. Even if the paper length L is determined, when the paper length L does not satisfy the first conditions (distance between rollers Lrmax+α≤L≤length of inversion path Lpmax), the CPU 301 switches between the conveyance flappers 172 and 182 to guide the sheet in the direction of the paper conveyance path 231. |
