[Problem] To attain, in an absorbent article including a combination of a three-dimensional-opening mesh sheet and an airlaid absorber, quick absorption of body fluid on the upper surface of the mesh sheet and an increase in the body fluid absorption of the absorber. [Solution] A liquid-permeable top sheet (3) is a sheet obtained by subjecting a three-dimensional -opening mesh sheet (3A) having many micro-protrusions (7), which project on the skin side and the top faces of which have been processed into openings (8), to mechanical embossing, and thereby forming many recesses (9) which are depressed toward the non-skin side. An absorber (4) is a five-layered airlaid absorber which comprises an airlaid pulp nonwoven fabric layer (10A), a highly absorbent polymer A layer (12), an airlaid pulp nonwoven fabric layer (10B), a highly absorbent polymer B layer (13) and an airlaid pulp nonwoven fabric layer (10C) in this order from the liquid-permeable top sheet (3) side and in which the highly absorbent polymer A layer (12) exhibits a high absorption speed, while the highly absorbent polymer B layer (13) exhibits a high absorption capacity. |
