The present invention relates to a display device and a method for driving the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the display device includes: a display panel containing a plurality of pixel lines; a data driving part for delivering a data voltage to the display panel; a gate driving part for delivering a gate signal to the display panel; and a signal control part for controlling the data driving part and the gate driving part. The pixel lines are divided into i-number of pixel line groups (wherein i is a natural number greater than 1) individually containing a plurality of pixel lines. The display panel displays a single still image during a single frame set containing i-number of successive frames. Each of the pixel line groups receives the data voltage and is charged during each frame of the frame set, wherein the frames are different from each other by each pixel line group.
