PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery excellent in charge and discharge cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: A secondary battery having an electrode containing silicon or a silicon compound, where the electrode, for example, has a current collector made of a metal and a silicon film provided on the current collector as an active material, is provided. At this time, a hydrogen concentration in the silicon film of the electrode may be 1.0×10cmor more and 1.0×10cmor less. It is preferable that such the silicon film is formed on the current collector by using, for example, a plasma CVD method or the like, and hydrogen is prevented from being contained in the silicon film as much as possible. The silicon film may be formed on the current collector under high temperature environment in order to prevent hydrogen from being contained in the silicon film as much as possible. |
