PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for simulated multi-gear vehicle sound generation.SOLUTION: A vehicle sound generator system is configured to drive one or more speakers 105 to generate sound waves simulating sound associated with a desired engine type. A signal is based on one or more operating conditions of a vehicle. The vehicle sound generator system is configured to select sound from a plurality of sound on the basis of the operating conditions of the vehicle. Each sound corresponds to simulated sound of an engine operating in respective gears. The vehicle sound generator system may drive the speakers 105 to generate the signal for producing the selected sound to simulate shifting between the respective gears.
