The present inventors investigated various liquid-crystal compounds and various chemical substances, and have found that the problem can be solved with a combination of specific liquid-crystal compounds, thereby completing the present invention. The invention provides: a liquid-crystal composition which has positive dielectric anisotropy, characterized by containing the compounds represented by formulae (26.2) and (2.5) and further containing one or more compounds represented by general formula (IV); a liquid-crystal display element for active matrix driving which includes the liquid-crystal composition; and a liquid-crystal display including the active-matrix liquid-crystal display element. (In the formula, R41 and R42 each independently represent an alkyl group, etc. and X41 and X42 each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a fluorine atom.) |
