A method for receiving a signal in a signal receiving apparatus in a communication system supporting a low density parity check (LDPC) code is provided. The method includes receiving a signal from a signal transmitting apparatus; and performing an LDPC decoding operation which is based on a preset first parity check matrix on the received signal, wherein the first parity check matrix is generated based on a second parity check matrix including a pluratity of sub-matrices.
