The invention relates to an article having an elastic main body based on a vulcanisate that has a wear-susceptible article surface. The article is in particular a drive belt (1) in the form of a v-ribbed belt having a top layer (2) as a belt backing and a substructure (4) having a force transmission zone (9), wherein at least the force transmission zone has a coating (8), wherein the coating of the force transmission zone consists solely of a fleece made of plastic, wherein the plastic is conditioned such that the plastic melts during the vulcanization and thus forms a permanent adhesive connection between main body and coating.
