<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably recognize object areas of various shapes surrounded by frame lines. <P>SOLUTION: A frame line recognizing device comprises: an intersection extractor that extracts an intersection between ruled lines extracted from an input image; a storage part that stores intersection information including arm vectors in a direction of moving away from or approaching this intersection along the respective ruled lines belonging to the intersection, and flags indicating whether or not these arm vectors are used in path search; a frame line extraction part that extracts a closed path as a frame line when the closed path is detected by performing the path search according to the direction of the arm vector starting from a prescribed intersection; updating means that updates the flag corresponding to the arm vector used for the detection of the closed path to a used status; and termination means that terminates the path search when all the flags are updated to the used status. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
