<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering apparatus which prevents marketing a defective product and allows component replacement when it is still in a safe condition, thereby improving safety and comfortability. <P>SOLUTION: The electric power steering apparatus has a plurality of problem diagnosis means each of which diagnoses a problem in each unit and outputs a problem settlement signal when the problem is a settled one and outputs a problem judgment signal when it is an unsettled one. An inspection device connected to a control unit supplies power to the control unit to execute problem diagnosis. Each problem diagnosis mean is composed of a problem detection unit which outputs a problem settlement signal when a problem detected in each unit is a settled one during a diagnosis time assigned to each unit, a count memory unit which stores a count representing the number of times of detection of unsettled problems by the problem detection unit, and a judgment unit which makes stepwise judgment on the degree of possibility of occurrence of a settled problem in each unit based on the count and outputs a problem judgement signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
