PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having such functions that when at least a shielding toner image is formed and transferred onto a colored recording medium except for a white color or a transparent recording medium, a finish image including the shielding toner image can be formed to have picture qualities ensuring the shielding property without influenced by the recording medium as a base.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image forming unit for forming at least either of a shielding toner image and a non-shielding toner image and transferring the image onto a recording medium; a fixing unit for fixing at least either of the shielding toner image and the non-shielding toner image transferred to the recording medium in the image forming unit, to the recording medium; and control means for controlling in such a way that, when a shielding toner image is formed and transferred to a colored recording medium except for a white color or a transparent recording medium in the image forming unit, fixing conditions for a shielding toner image in the fixing conditions set by three elements of fixing temperature, fixing pressure and fixing time in the fixing unit are determined, based on the conditions for fixing a non-shielding toner image, by decreasing at least one element in the above three elements, or by decreasing at least a fixing pressure to zero. |
