PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which forms an excellent color image free from color misregistration even when a drive source for rotating a photoreceptor drum and control means for controlling the drive source are connected over inexpensive serial communication.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: rotating photoreceptor drums 2a-2d with images carried thereon; a primary transfer roller which transfers the images carried on the photoreceptor drums 2a-2d to a transfer body to form a color image in a superimposed manner; drive gears 41a, 41d for rotating the photoreceptor drum 2a-2c and the photoreceptor drum 2d, respectively; and a CPU for controlling the drive gears 41a, 41d. The time to start driving the drive gears 41a, 41d is controlled according to a difference between the time from the start of issuing a drive stop instruction to the drive gear 41a to the stop thereof and the time from the start of issuing a drive stop instruction to the drive gear 41d to the stop thereof. |
