The present invention relates to an apparatus to assist in reversing of a vehicle, and a method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus to assist in reversing of a vehicle includes: a terrain detection sensor mounted on a rear portion of a vehicle to obtain rear terrain information; an image sensor obtaining a rear image of the vehicle; a reversing path calculation unit calculating a reversing path based on the rear terrain information; an image synthesis unit synthesizing a guideline in accordance with the reversing path to the rear image; and a display unit displaying the synthesized image outputted from the image synthesis unit. |
