PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst converter suppressed in the deformation of a metal carrier.SOLUTION: A catalyst converter comprises a metal carrier 50 formed by being wound with metal-made net-shaped foil, and a slit 53 for cutting an external periphery of the converter in the axial direction is formed over the circumferential entire periphery of the metal carrier 50. The deformation of the metal carrier 50 can be suppressed by forming the slit 53. A part of an end of the metal carrier 50 formed with the slit 53 forms a salient part 54 salient to a side of a holding mat 40 located outside the radial direction. When the metal carrier 50 is held by the holding mat 40, the protrusion 54 is stuck into the holding mat 40, and the metal carrier 50 and the holding mat 40 are mechanically connected to each other. The axial movement of the metal carrier 50 with respect to the holding mat 40 is thereby suppressed. |
