Provided is a resin composition that makes it possible to achieve high density and uniform dispersion in a cured product in a state in which a high degree of separation is achieved between layers of a layered silicate. The resin composition is characterized by comprising: a cation-curable resin; and a cation-curable catalyst in which at least one of an organic compound comprising primary amine ions, an organic compound comprising secondary amine ions, and an organic compound comprising tertiary amine ions is intercalated between layers of a layered silicate.
