PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet length measuring device that can improve the accuracy of measuring the length of sheets, and an image forming apparatus that can improve the accuracy of printing on the front and rear surfaces of sheets.SOLUTION: A sheet length measuring device includes: belt conveyance means 210 including an endless belt 211, and a support member 215 that holds the endless belt 211 from the rear side of the endless belt 211; sheet adsorption means 220 including an upstream pressure roller 221 that applies pressure to sheets to be closely adhered to the endless belt 211, and upstream application means 240 for providing an electrostatic force to cause the sheets conveyed to be adsorbed to the endless belt 211; first imaging means 270 and second imaging means 280 for photographing the sheets adsorbed to the endless belt 211; and a length measurement control unit that measures the length of the sheets from the photographed images, where the support member 215 holds the endless belt 211 at least from the vicinity of the position of a nip to an imaging position so that the adsorption surface 211a of the endless belt 211 becomes substantially the same height as that of the position of the nip. |
