<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope system and a disc unit that are capable of simply changing over between a super-resolution image and a confocal image.SOLUTION: A microscope system comprises: illumination light generation means for generating illumination light with which a sample of an observation is illuminated; an imaging optical system that images observation light from the sample to form an image of the sample; a super-resolution modulation part that modules a spatial intensity distribution of the illumination light and the observation light to a spatial intensity distribution for generation of a super-resolution image; optical modulation means at least including a first disc having a confocal modulation part modulating a spatial intensity distribution for generation of a confocal image, or a second disc having the super-resolution modulation part and a third disc having the confocal modulation part; disc drive means for rotating the discs, and moving the discs toward a direction where a principal surface of the discs intersects the optical axis of the imaging optical system; and image generation means for generating super-resolution image data or confocal image data on the basis of received observation light.</p> |
