PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic defect determination method which can surely determine types of defects even when the defects in a specimen closely exist.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic defect determination method emits a pulse ultrasonic wave as an oscillation wave St to a specimen 1, stores a waveform of the oscillation wave St, adds or subtracts the waveform of the oscillation wave St to/from a waveform of a reception wave Sc so as to eliminate the first half of the waveform of the reception wave Sc when the reception wave Sc returned with reflection from the specimen 1 is longer than the oscillation wave St, determines the type of a defect 2A positioned on the front side in the specimen 1 in accordance with the addition or subtraction of the oscillation wave St for elimination, and determines the type of a defect 2B positioned on the rear side in the specimen 1 with the second half of the remaining waveform Sd that has not been eliminated. |
