PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove or reduce the thickness of at least one of shielding layers, which are formed on the front face and rear face of a medium, in a range where the shielding layers are overlapped with each other, so as to suppress the consumption of a shielding agent while securely preventing the occurrence of strike-through.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus 10 including an image forming unit that forms image objects on the front face or rear face of a medium, a shielding layer forming unit that forms shielding layers on the front face or rear face of the medium as grounds of the image objects, and a control unit that controls the operation of the image forming unit and shielding layer forming unit, where in a range where the shielding layers formed on the front face and rear face of the medium are overlapped with each other, at least one of the shielding layers formed on the front face and rear face of the medium is removed or reduced in thickness. |
