According to an aspect of the present invention, a hatch coaming of a container ship comprises a support plate in the longitudinal direction on a deck side; a top plate formed on the support plate; and a plurality of reinforcing plates on one side corresponding to the other side of the support plate so as to support the top plate and the support plate, wherein there is a discontinuous section by a deck house arranged in the center of the container ship and a panel arranged on the rear side. The hatch coaming located at a starting point of the discontinuous section comprises a plane part parallel to the deck and an inclined part downward sloping toward the deck from one end of the planar portion. The inclined part becomes narrower, coming closer to the deck, and has recesses formed on the end portion which is narrow.
